Devil takes bashing for difficulties in teachers’ Single Spine Salary

Teachers in the Adaklu-Anyigbe District on Monday took a swipe at the devil for the difficulties they were facing in the implementation of the Single Spine Salary Structure.
Mr Dickson Adzandeh a Budget Officer at the Adaklu-Anyigbe Directorate of the Ghana Education Service initiated the attack against the devil in a prayer at the presentation of computers to the Directorate by Mrs Juliana Azumah-Mensah, Member of Parliament for the area.
He was joined by other teachers who stamped their feet on the ground waving their hands and gestures as if binding the devil while others shouted Amen, Amen, in unison.
The prayer lasted for close to five minutes prompting the audience to intervene with giggling and expressions suggesting that the devil has had enough.
Mr Adzandeh who spoke to the Ghana News Agency explained that the fact that personnel of the security services had their single spine salary without hitches suggested that the devil has a hand in that of the teachers.
“Why is it that it was only when it was the turn of teachers that the Controller and Accountant General’s Department started in-putting wrong figures and information?”
Mr Adzandeh urged teachers not to take the anomalies lightly as a normal mistake but a spiritual attack and seek God’s intervention.
“We must all pray without ceasing and ask God to intervene and help us,” he added.
