Nigerian Businesswoman in the grips of NACOB over suspected Indian Hemp

      Joke Benson, a Nigerian Businesswoman was last Friday arrested at  Lome by personnel of the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority with 10 parcels of dry leaves suspected to be Indian Hemp.
     Mr Desmond Issac Abbey, Second in Command of the the Division at Aflao told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that the suspect said she was returning to Nigeria from a business trip to Ghana.
     He said Benson who arrived at Aflao on board a public transport handed over one of her two bags to a young man who was also on the bus for assistance and went ahead of him to Lome.
     Mr Abbey said when the young man arrived at the Customs check point at Aflao he was ordered by the duty officers to open the bag but he said the owner had gone ahead of him.
     Mr Abbey said when a Customs official opened the bag he saw eight neatly compressed parcels of the leaves, each weighing one kilogram.
     He said the young man was then escorted into Lome, Togo where he identified Benson in whose other bags two extra parcels of the leaves were found.
     Mr Abbey said the suspect had been handed over to the Narcotic Control Board and had since been transferred to Accra for further interrogation.
