Volta Region and Chinese Province to establish relations

Ho, May 20, (Gaitu), GNA- The Ningxia Autonomous Region in China and the Volta region are to establish Sister City relations.
Togbe Afede XIV, President of the Volta Region House of Chiefs announced this at the House’s general meeting on Thursday.
He said delegations from the two regions were soon to exchange visits and information about each other.
Togbe Afede said Ningxia’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of about 4,500 US dollars was above the Chinese average.
He said Ningxia Province with a population of about six and a half million people has a well developed agriculture and tourism sectors with its industrialization on the upswing.
Osie Adjatekpor VII Osie of Avatime commended the leadership of the House for leading the course of the region’s development.
He said the Sister City relationship between the Volta region and Ningxia should not be one of dependency but one that should bring mutual benefits to the two regions.
