Ho, May 25, (Kanyi/Mensah) GNA-Authorities of the Ho Nurses Training College on Tuesday told the GNA that 30 female students have so far given their names as victims of alleged sexual molestation by some students of the Ho Polytechnic last Monday.
Mrs Josephine Ansu-Gyeabour, Vice Principal of the College said one of the victims whose case was more serious is seeking medical attention at a health facility in town.
Mrs Ansu-Gyeabour said the students said it would be difficult to identify individuals who assaulted them because it was a mob action.
She said executives of the Students’ Representative Council (SRC) of the Polytechnic visited the College to apologize for what happened.
A press release signed by Mr Eric K. Tsitsia, SRC President and Mr Oscar Akaba, Chairman of the Week Organizing Committee, said, “ Ho Polytechnic wishes to apologize to all stakeholders who might have been affected in any way during the week celebration.”
Meanwhile, some students of the Polytechnic have besieged the Ho Municipal Police Station where some students were said to have been invited over the matter.
