Volta Regional Minister elated at the completion of emergency SHS projects

Some (V/R), Feb. 25, (Mensah) GNA- A total of 19 out of 21 classroom blocks under government’s emergency Senior High School (SHS) projects have been completed in the Volta Region.
The re-designing of the remaining two projects has held back their completion.
Mr Joseph Amenowode, Volta Regional Minister made the observation at the handing over of four of those projects at Some rpt Some SHS, Akatsi Secondary Technical School, Comboni Vocational Technical and Bator SHS.
Each of the completed projects cost 260,000 Ghana cedis.
Mr Amenowode said contracts have been awarded for additional classroom blocks, dormitories, staff bungalows, assembly halls and kitchen complexes for selected schools.
“Our policy is equitable distribution of resources; we will spread facilities across all schools.”
Mr Amenowode, commended contractors on the projects for tackling their jobs in good time.
He urged teachers and students to take good care of the facilities to ensure their durability.
Headmasters of the schools expressed gratitude to government for the facilities and appealed for more of such projects including staff accommodation and school buses.
